How I decide
Every page on this site opens with a straight answer. This page is where those answers come from, so you can judge for yourself how much they're worth.
Where the answers come from
Thirty-odd years of running sound is the start, but it's not the whole story. Nobody has used everything, and anybody who tells you different is selling something. So before a page goes up, I go find the people who own the thing: the parents, the players, the church volunteers, the working sound guys. When a $60 microphone has a thousand owners saying the same thing, that beats any spec sheet ever printed. My job is knowing which reports matter, and saying what they mean in plain words.
How the prices stay honest
Every price on this site gets checked against what stores actually charge, not what a press release said two years ago. When prices move, the pages move with them. Last full sweep: July 2026.
When I get one wrong
It happens. When it does, the fix goes on the page itself, not in some quiet corner. Whatever page you're reading is the best answer I have today, not the answer from whenever it was first written.
What nobody pays for
No manufacturer sponsors this site. No press kits, no free review units, no partnerships. If you buy through my links the site earns a little coffee money, and that never changes a pick. The full coffee-money explanation is here.
The promise
Plain answers, easy decisions. If a page here doesn't leave you able to decide, the page failed. Not you.
